Lantern Insurance Services

Lantern Insurance offers three cover options for their customers: Full cover (FC), Third-party, fire & theft (TPFT), and Third-party only (TPO). Each cover option provides different levels of protection and benefits. 

Lantern car insurance cover options 

1. Full cover (FC)

  • Provides comprehensive coverage for sudden and accidental loss to the car during the period of insurance in New Zealand.
  • Covers accidental loss caused by fire, theft, natural disasters, and other incidents.
  • Includes benefits such as legal liability coverage, protection against uninsured drivers, road clearing costs, towing costs, and transport costs.
  • Additional benefits include coverage for accidental death and permanent disablement, accommodation costs, alternative transport, caravan contents, and electrical or electronic hardware or system.

2. Third-party, fire & theft (TPFT) 

  • Offers limited coverage for accidental loss to the car caused by fire, theft or natural disasters.
  • This insurance policy gives you complete coverage for any legal responsibility you may have, protection in case you're involved in an accident with an uninsured driver, coverage for the costs of clearing the road after an accident, assistance with towing expenses if your vehicle breaks down, and coverage for transport costs if your vehicle needs to be moved
  • Includes benefits for accidental death and permanent disablement, with specific amounts for different events.

3. Third-party only (TPO)

  • Provides coverage for legal liability, including protection against uninsured drivers and road clearing costs.
  • Does not cover accidental loss under the "Accidental loss" benefit.
