Comprehensive AMI car insurance option

When it comes to car insurance, AMI stands out with its comprehensive car cover. In the unfortunate event of severe damage or theft of your vehicle, they cover the reasonable costs for you and your passengers to return home safely and ensure that your vehicle is securely transported to a location near you.

Their comprehensive car insurance covers unexpected damage, accidents, fire, and theft for your vehicle. They provide legal liability coverage and assistance with vehicle removal. Optional extras include breakdown service, rental vehicle coverage, and glass excess buy-out. For vehicles less than 12 months old and repairs exceeding 60% of their value, they offer new car replacements.

Third-party, fire and theft option

The third party, fire and theft option covers fire damage and theft or attempted theft and provides cover for third-party liability up to $20 million. You’ll also have access to towing facilities for accident-damaged vehicles and repair work done by approved suppliers.

Third-party only car insurance

Third-party-only car insurance provides financial protection for damage to someone else’s property, up to $20 million. Coverage excludes damage to your own vehicle if you’re at fault. Premiums are based on age, gender, driving experience, and vehicle type and excess amounts apply. Repair costs below the excess remains your responsibility.

How to get your claim approved - fast

  1. Promptly get in touch with them. They may ask you to complete a claim form. In case of deliberate damage, burglary, or theft, inform the police without delay. Take all necessary steps to minimise additional loss or damage.
  2. Make your vehicle available for inspection by them. Obtain permission for repairs before arranging any repairs or incurring expenses related to the claim. Inform them of any communications regarding events that may result in a claim.
  3. Notify them immediately if you or any other insured person is charged with an offence related to vehicle use causing property loss or bodily injury to another person. Cooperate with them in managing your claim by providing requested information, and documents, including attending meetings or court proceedings, and support them in taking legal action.
  4. Obtain their permission before negotiating, settling, admitting, or denying any claim made against you. Do not take any action that could prejudice their rights of recovery, or make reparation offers.
  5. Consent to the disclosure of your personal information, relevant to the claim, to them, and the Insurance Claims Register Limited.
