Horse Deluxe

The FMG horse deluxe policy provides coverage for equestrian and sport horses aged between three and 10 years old. It includes vet costs and a payout should the horse die.

Benefits include:

• Up to $10,000 or half of the sum insured for treatment costs related to defined injuries or diseases during the insurance period.
• Coverage for accidental death, injury, illness, or disease resulting in euthanasia.
• Comprehensive coverage for equestrian and sport horses aged three to 10 years old.
• Protection against permanent incapacitation due to accidents, illness, or disease.
• Coverage against theft and transit by air or sea within New Zealand and Australia.

Horse Plus

This product offers comprehensive coverage for a variety of horses, such as leisure and equestrian horses, aged 24 hours to 16 years. It covers vet costs and the death of the horse.

Benefits include: 

• You get a maximum of $10,000 or half of the sum insured for treatment of a defined injury or illness.
• Cover for when your horse dies or needs to be euthanised because of an accident, injury, or disease.
• Upon approval, you’ll also get up to $500 for removal costs.
• Cover for theft of your horse or its humane destruction. Applicable on air- or sea transits within New Zealand and Australia.

Horse Primary

This policy covers horses such as leisure, on-farm, and equestrian horses from 1 to 16 years old.

Benefits include:

• You get coverage for vet treatments resulting from an accidental, external, and visible injury or colic.
• Automatic coverage if your horse dies or is euthanised due to accidental, external, and visible injury or colic.
• Protection against death due to a surgical operation conducted by a vet under anesthesia.

Horse External Accident Only

This policy also caters to equestrian horses aged 1 to 18 years, with a value of up to $7,500. It specifically protects against death caused by an external and visible injury but doesn’t cover vet expenses.

An automatic one-year cover extension applies if the policy has been active for a year or longer. If your horse dies within a year after the insurance period ends and you had notified FMG of the possibility, the animal remains covered.
